The American Institute for Roman Culture uses social media to dialog with the public and colleagues worldwide. We are available to set up online learning experiences via Skype and other video formats.
We run cultural heritage conferences, seminars, and events, and we direct students in many disciplines through our internship program.
Throughout the year, AIRC also offers internship opportunities for students pursuing advanced undergraduate or graduate course work in archaeology, anthropology, museum studies, education, experiential education, and related fields. Most internships are unpaid, but occasionally funds are available for paid graduate internships.
Based upon an individual's academic training and interests, as well as the availability of projects, interns at the AIRC work under the guidance of faculty and staff and gain first-hand practical experience, marketable skills, and a broad exposure to non-profit work and the field of archaeology.
Internships currently being offered are unpaid or for academic credit only. Unless otherwise posted, all students are responsible for all living expenses while in Rome, and while hours vary and are flexible, a minimum of 14 hours per week is generally expected.
