Shelley Ruelle

Shelley Ruelle is Programs Director at AIRC and began working in study abroad in Rome in 2003, when she helped ACCENT International open their study center in Rome working together with the University of California. Shelley directed the ACCENT Rome Center from 2005-2006 prior to opening her own business running two holiday apartments in the Trastevere neighborhood for tourists, which quickly became #1 on Trip Advisor in its category. Shelley came to Rome in 2001 having devised her own study abroad program in Italian language, and ended up moving to Rome in December 2001 staying until August 2008, when she took a three year sabbatical to the United States. She returned to Rome in June 2011 and has been with AIRC since July 2011 helping to build the signature program and expand the Institute's reach among US universities. Shelley holds a B.S. in Advertising and Marketing from Northern Ariziona University. Shelley manages logistics for AIRC programs and provides student support through all the phases of the study abroad process: from culture shock, to language issues, to navigating the city. She loves working with university students experiencing the Eternal City and especially as they embark on AIRC's unique programs and all that the Institute has to offer them in their academic endeavors.
