The American Institute for Roman Culture offers extraordinary programs and projects for university students and scholars in a unique interdisciplinary learning environment. We live and work in the heart of Rome, as do our students, with a network of local scholars and ties to Italian superintendencies (including the Italian Ministry of Culture, MiBAC) and foreign institutes.

Contact us (info@romanculture.org) for more information or to create your own unique program utilizing our access and expertise.
Facilities and housing are both central and accessible. Maximize your time in Rome and live the city, rather than commute to it or visit it.
Our primary areas of interest are archaeology, art history, classical studies, communications, conservation, environmental sciences, journalism, history, media and social media, museum studies, sustainability, urban studies, and video documentary production, as well as languages (ancient and modern) and religious studies.

Our activities comprise three main areas.
Study abroad: semester and short term programs
Projects: archaeological field work and conservation initiatives
Public outreach: internships, social media, conferences
For all activities, AIRC facilities and housing are both centrally located and part of the core experience for being in Rome. Our participants live the city and its history daily.
